Just recently made an account to log my summit of bukit saga in Malaysia, will use it for future summits

Just tried this one, same route as you but horrendous conditions! 70mph winds, had to abort :o

just stuff everything in the sack. Much less fuss and better for the tent.

This is what puts me off camping. Tents are too fucking confusing and complicated. 😭😢

DD tarps are brilliant but for a tent you're better off just getting a trekking pole tent because they come with a bathtub floor built in and weigh less than a DD tarp + extra bivvy or ground sheet.

no way! the same thing happened to my family, we went to Wales for a trip and the weather was indicating some strong winds, (40 MPH) We stayed in 3 separate tents as it was too many people for one tent, When the storm hit we went in the tent of course but the storm was way stronger than what the weather app said, it blew down our neighbouring tent, Ripped a hole in my tent, and bent the poles of the third tent It even blew down wind socks and one fell on a car and damaged it

Hi Fellas. Not sure about your brand of boil-in-a-bag but the various bean-based Indian ones I can get at the grocery store here in Canada are pre-cooked. While the packaging says to boil the bag for 3-5 minutes we have found that unnecessary. We cook the rice and pour the contents of the bag on top. The rice heats it up nicely.

I already bout a tent I also got a £11 tent and it was very good me and my family are all camping im alone my mum and baby bro, my dad and other bro is also camping thanks for the tips

Enjoyed the vid,i grew up in st.ives and there used to be a shortcut in hayle by the end of the estuary where you could jump to a little island and then the same the other side.I can't remember if it included wet feet or not tho lol or if still there but i guess it would be :)

once my kids are a little older i fully plan on camping on hidden spots in local woods and trails. Because im not paying the stupid prices to get a small patch of grass surounded by people sitting up all night playing music and drinking :P

I want to buy a cloud up 2 but cant decide between 20D and 210T do you have a preference?

I have been using a Vango Ark 300+ fantastic - but have just purchased the Soul (lighter) for a trip via bus for a weekend and minimal kit (not arrived yet). It does look claustrophobic but I may use the Vango Adventure Tarp with it that I usually use with the Ark, and it is not very heavy to carry either, otherwise I could use the NESO beach shelter as porch or to cook beneath whichever one is lighter. It is useful also when I use the Ark I could use the Soul as an addition to store kit overnight like folding chairs, cushions etc ............

Get a 20y/o De Waard tent and this would be fun.

Thru hiked the AT last year. 1900 miles were under a tarp in a hammock. Last 300 I sent the hammock home and tried just the tarp tarp was wonderful. Sleeping on a mat sucked. There was one miserable night in Maine where it rained so hard and the only spot to pitch was a platform so I pitched too low because of blowing rain and discovered the platform had a dip so everything of the mat was soaked. Couldn't sit up, couldn't let anything fall off the mat. Which was on wood. Most miserable night of my life. Come daylight I got over that mountain called The Hostel of Maine to pick my ass up and spent two days camped in a stuffed leather chair. Man I needed that.

Amazing video Trev! As you know, a tor basically means a hill with rocks. In my opinion, the best tors are in Dartmoor. The people in Cornwall and Devon are lucky to have this beautiful moorland, even though those two counties debate about jam and cream. It's nice to hear the birds chirping. Excellent reviews - we just bought the Cloud Up 3 - we do mostly car camping and we are older (63 and 66), so the additional room is good and weight not really an issue. We'll be taking it out for a trip shortly to Cape Split, Nova Scotia. Have watched several of your videos and enjoyed them - thank you - we have subscribed. :)

Hi, I share your love of Dartmoor, I have a theory of the stone circles, I've studied Art for many years and symbolism is a key factor. So I think the stones represent the various tribes or groups, which are unified, hence the circle The stone rows could represent the ancestors from their past. Just an idea.

I wonder if someone from West country calls 999, do the dispatchers have an interpreter solely to translate West country accent?

Air tents work very well in high winds if erected properly. Do not over-inflate and peg out properly. The nice thing is that the air tubes will give and the tent partially collapse in strong wind but then just right itself again. I carry extra guy lines for one side only and use them on the windy side if ever necessary. I have used them on poled tents before but never bothered with the air tent.

I was expecting all positive review dump maybe because you are endorsed or something. I was wrong, I can see you're honest and objective. I think I'll go with Vik 1 when they restock for a 570 km hike. Thanks
